I went with my son to a youth event here where youth from Baptist churches in the Greenville area came to together to worship for one evening. The worship center was not a santuary but a rock concert venue with special lighting and other effects. The "worship" was a rock concert with a touchy-feely "Jesus loves you" sermonette/testimony lacking a true Biblical focus at the end. It seems this church is on a mission to be yet another megachurch focused on numbers and adapting to the world around it in the Upstate much like Brookwood and Relentless. Rather than help out struggling sister Baptist churches in the area no strings attached, it is flexing its financial coffers to take them over and wipe out their history with its "branding." It is shameful. I must ask why First Baptist Simpsonville has not changed its name to Upstate Church-Simpsonville like it has forced other churches they have taken over to do? Be leery of churches who hide who they are by removing Baptist from the names of the churches it "bought." The Greenville Baptist Association should step up and put a stop to this cannibalistic nonsense.

Really enjoyed Pastor Bray's message! We are looking for a home church. It is much larger than what we are used to, the parking is REALLY tough here at their "main campus". People at the welcome center were very friendly and helpful but the parishioners were not very friendly at all. Everyone was rushing about and pushing past us, no manners or smiles for the most part. Most people seemed to keep to just the people they know and we did not get a "warm" and welcome feeling at all. Maybe because it is just so big??? We felt rather rejected, if I am to be honest here. We have neighbors who go there and they are wonderfully warm and kind people....we just did not see much of that within the general congregation. This church is a rather long drive away and not part of our local community, so we will keep looking. Pastor Bray is a wonderful speaker though!! The church is super clean and new feeling and is HUGE.

First Baptist Simpsonville, located on Hedge Street in Simpsonville, South Carolina, was a pleasure to visit. We attended for a Christmas Eve service and really enjoyed the service. The message was appropriate for a Christmas service. The worship team did a phenomenal job leading in a number of Christmas hymns. They actually held multiple services in both auditoriums yo accommodate the number of people and still stay somewhat socially distanced. The candle light service was focused on the joy of Christmas and certainly brought joy to my heart!
